Tender Relief

My body drifts to sleep as doubts invade
My mind to bring the nightmares of my soul
Replacing dreams with a fearful parade
The pain rejecting me must take its toll
Demons are bouncing my heart like a ball
Against the wall of dreaded fear and pain
Once more the darker times have come to call
And love is lost to blood that pours like rain
But love, the distant voice that speaks of light
A single ray of hope amid the dreams
Of darkness found upon an endless night
I pray that love brings silence to the screams
As slowly my spirit begins to rise
I know that love alone bears no disguise
