Example: Down by the Stream by Jez farmer
Each night I walk past the tree-lined stream,
And see the seasons flowing quickly by,
The silver shards that moonlight leaves behind,
Entwined with rusty gold of autumn’s sigh.
I sit and stare as if I’m lost in time,
And ponder on the cycle, life and death,
The beauty of autumn that ends the year
And promise of new life on nature’s breath.
Yet first we see the coming of dark days,
The longest nights are ruled by lunar light,
For lady moon brings comfort when we’re alone,
And company long into winter’s night.
‘Tis not with sadness we see the year past
But gladness for the new is coming fast!
