Rhopalic Verse

The Rhopalic verse is not as easy as it looks at first glance. The rules of the form are simple enough as for each line the first word is one syllable, the second is two, the third is three and so on. There are no other limits in line length or the number of stanzas.

In my example, I limited myself to two ideas and keeping my thinking simple.

Example: Comparison of Passions by Jez Farmer

Dust settles rapidly
On empty battlefields
In mourning reflection
And lovers lingering
In velvet temptation
Such feelings equated resolutely
Love
Hate
The friction intimates
That spirits awaken indifferent
