Haunting Love

Form: Ivorian Sonnet 14

In the silent dark shadows of my mind
I see her, a pale figure undefined
But my soul knows without doubt it is you
The same you that haunts my body each night
A vague memory yet something quite new
Like a half-finished painting on the wall
From a time that my living has forgot
And why can’t I place your voice when you call
I feel so lost in this I don’t know what
In trying to recall my thoughts are blind
Incoherent images that is all
And I don’t know what is or isn’t true
Yet still I feel it though my mind is shot
Your tender touch so delicate and light
