Form: Raven’s Rovi Sonnet 20

A man cannot feel love that never was
Nor can he lose his soul to a closed mind
Although he may search for it just because
He wants answers to the when, where and why
Yet in his heart he knows they don’t exist
There’s not even a tear left in his eye
No recall of how it felt when they kissed
There’s never a reason, never a cause
Love isn’t there so there’s no point to it
Just casual sex, love remains undefined
Like an echo the past fades into mist
In the morning he wakes to a new sky
A better place, the past a brief obit
As he follows the path the sun has lit
