Fashion Parade

Form: Beginning of the Line Rhymed Sonnet

Smiles are infectious, a beautiful pox
Styles may change but a smile will never fail
To set a mark in the high fashion stakes
Blue turns to red then green and back again
Silk, linen and wool have all had their day
Milking the customer for all they can
But no one ever smiles on the catwalk
Strutting in turn to catch the buyer’s eye
I think of you, love, as they strike the pose
My heart delights to think of your sweet smile
Dresses of sadness and what is the point
Stresses of shallow looks that break the heart
There must be more meaning to life than this
Share your heart, my love, so we share bliss
