Form: Raven’s Rovi Sonnet 27
In the vague morning light I look at you
And question the lust of the night before
I look at you and I see nothing new
Two eyes the same as all those other eyes
I had stared into while drinking red wine
Your mouth lost in many passionate cries
Too many to count and none were divine
The drunken kisses on a living room floor
A meaningless love, just something to do
With a cheap take-out dinner you’ll do fine
Before a night spent between your soft thighs
No recall of your body beneath me
Like so many others setting lust free
A brief encounter, then, without coffee
