Form: Raven’s Rovi Sonnet 30

As twilight shadows dissolve in the sand
And echoes of day drift out to the sea
Your lips flutter on the palm of my hand
In sweet memory where nothing is lost
In desire and love as we danced delight
Yet now, alone, I am paying the cost
And I ask how you could leave me that night
My heart broken and no reason to be
For in that night I had no place to stand
With no belief and not a breath of air
We were one, and it could never be right
When you left all my senses to be tossed
To the barren lands and it wasn’t fair
But in a memory, I know you’re there
