Mark woke early on this Saturday morning and his eyes gently glazed over his wife sleeping beside him. Picking up the baby monitor he quietly left the bedroom and went down to the kitchen to make coffee. Jess deserved a lie-in.
A few hours later he sat staring at a spreadsheet listening to Jess chatting and cooing to their daughter Olivia. He smiled and got on with his work. It was just after 2pm when he stretched back in his chair and listened to the gentle voice of Jess putting the baby down for a nap. He loved listening to her singing rock-a-bye.
Then he heard the front door open and close. ‘Hi sweetheart,’ he heard Jess call. ‘Can you give me a hand with the shopping, please.’
Mark shot from his office and up the stairs to their daughter’s room…
