Suspension of Consciousness

Form: Raven’s Rovi Sonnet 33

You moved silently like the gentle air
Without sound to disturb my sleeping mind
As I wake I wonder if you were there
My arms tighten to pull emptiness near
And I am listening for the sound of
Your breath to softly rest over my ear
Beneath the sheets, I am restless for love
The lingering scent of you mine to find
On the pillow, I sense your presence dear
My hands entwine inside this linen glove
And for a moment feel you are right where
I left you before the falling asleep
With my dreams of love, old-fashioned and deep
And I curse as the alarm starts to bleep
