The Trouble with Tights

Form: Brisbane Sonnet

I haven’t forgotten the annoyance
Of tights; the fear of snagging on the gate
In the rushing out late to get to work
That tell-tale rip in its full flamboyance
There’s no going back ‘cos it’s too late
The trouble with tights that sent me berserk
I don’t miss those days it has to be said
I don’t get and problems from jeans and socks
I don’t need a bag to carry a pair
Perhaps I could fix a fan belt instead
Can’t really do that with a pair of jocks
Still I don’t miss them at all to be fair
Now I think I’ve done a sonnet to tights
It’s time to move on to other delights
