Her Crazy-Assed Poet Wrote a Sonnet

Form: Brisbane Sonnet

I’m just a poet playing with his words
While mumbling the sounds for my ink to find
Echoes falling in a meaningless pool
If your heard them would it seem so absurd
When poems to you are loving and kind
Or perhaps you see me as a mere fool
Words seem worthless as I attempt to reach
Emotions of love that fill me tonight
Still the ink flows with my deepest desire
Of you and I on a secluded beach
Of stars dancing in your eyes by moonlight
Of souls burning in the flames of love’s fire
But somewhere inside my world of pretence
I hope my crazy words are making sense
