I watched the shadows dance over her face as she walked past me and down the alley. I slipped into the darker shadows and followed her. She didn’t notice, I could have followed her for miles but there is no fun in doing that.
I let my feet fall a little heavier. She became aware of me as I got closer and I could almost hear her heart racing as she sped up. I could smell her fear and taste the saltiness of her tears on the air. I walked faster. Waiting for the right moment as the alley twisted into complete darkness and isolation.
Now, as my hand covered her mouth she tried to scream, and I pulled her roughly into the darkness. The muffled screams replaced by an eerie silence of nothingness.
The alley was silent and empty. A shattered mobile phone lay in the gutter, the shards of its screen glinting in the morning sun.
