For my Rizzle

Form: Raven’s Rovi Sonnet 66

She has died leaving me behind in time
Her ashes buried beneath the rose tree
In the garden where she played roses climb
The day will come for me to join her there
Once again embraced in her loving paws
Dark eyes shine the face of a teddy bear
Her gentle soul to hold my heart in claws
All those years full of love and joy we shared
I know this time apart is just a pause
And in another time, she’ll wake again
With a cold black nose in my face to see
If I’m awake enough for breakfast time
My old gal waits for me free from the pain
I know she’ll be my ‘good dog’ once again
