Returning to Beauty

Form: Raven’s Rovi Sonnet 76

The drifts of snow carry life into caves
Buried beneath like old catacombs
With liquid cut walls forming icy graves
And frosty sculptures of memory weep
Transitory tears until the springtide
Fresh life rising sun-seeking shoots leap
Into the breeze, April’s free-for-all ride
Ice and frost gone like a thought pushed aside
And nature whispers see how spring behaves
As the world wakens from winter’s sleep
Returning to beauty, a child reborn
The blossom risen from earthly tomb
As birds fall into love in golden dawn
Announcing the song of spring is now reborn.
