Example
The Sentimental Jerk by Jez Farmer
As roses bloom in red
And the violets in blue
The heart rules it is said
With the words ‘I love you’
The heart is just a fool
Those words need much more thought
They are not for me to say
No more can I be caught
For love unrequited
Must leave the heart like stone
Never reunited
A poet walks alone
The head must surely rule
And deny love its way
This is very nice.
