In the April Moonlight

Form: John Tee Sonnet

The moon rises above the old oak trees
To shine her beauty across the valley
And willow trees are heavy with leaf buds
Are weeping softly into the rippled stream
As in the moonlight nymphs and dyads come
To dance with the sprites on an April night
The moon rises above the old oak trees
To shine her beauty across the valley
Across the water she flickers and glows
To evergreen glades where the witches dance
By the sepia glow of the elfin lamps
And the magic weaves spells of future springs
The moon rises above the old oak trees
To shine her beauty across the valley
