Nesting Birds

Form: Mathlish

The pale blue pattern announces the spring
A music box behind the blossom sings
In branches of the blooming lilac tree
The nesting birds wait as parents-to-be
They’re constantly watching hoping to see
A delicate crack announcing new life
As Mr Sparrow serenades his wife
And from the soft earth a tulip breaks through
A crimson kiss that speaks of all thins new
Whilst fresh beneath the skies of springtide blue
The poets write their dreams in pen and ink
With words of love they gently reach to touch
The tender heart that makes them yearn so much
And in that muse there's barely time to think
