Form: Raven’s Rovi Sonnet 114

So many years have gone on by the by
Since we watched the ships going out to sea
And I watch them now, a tear in my eye
For the days back then when we once lived here
For you my lady, my reason to smile
How I miss you now, alone on the pier
But still I stand here, alone for awhile
Here on the Gower you loved and were loved
And how we held hands to face all that fear
You and me against the hatred so vile
For our love was so beautiful and free
Now I am alone and can only sigh
As I look high into the skies above
On the shore where I once felt so beloved
