Sonnet to Grief

Form: Arabian Sonnet

As time stands silent at the forest’s verge
Alone where mysteries of love converge
From the trees see melancholy emerge
Its sweet song of love now a dismal dirge
Caught in the storms to be lost in the sweep
Of winds that howl calling sadness to weep
And as the tears flow to the ocean deep
So begins the broken heart’s time to sleep
Alone in the night there is only fear
That cannot be solved by the sobbing tear
The endless torment that love is not here
No more can be heard the words of love speak
The music is gone what is left to seek
But the new strength that is found in the weak
