Poor Health Costs by Larry Eberhart
Most every life is filled with highs and lows;
expect no less.
But only when your health has been deposed
is life a mess.
The costs, unless you’re in the upper class
will change your life
by draining wealth you’ve managed to amass;
it grieves your wife.
The little things like taking her to dine
you must forego.

But now it’s so.
And yet each day the love my wife provides
is constant, and she makes me laugh besides
