#Writephoto – Health Before Wealth

KL’s prompt, located here https://new2writing.wordpress.com/2021/09/23/writephoto-money/, is an interesting one for someone like me who isn’t that orientated by money. So here goes…

Money – Image by KL Caley

Health Before Wealth
Form: Alternating Quatrains with tercet refrain

Pretty eyes say you’re cutting a dash
In those brand new Levi jeans
Then she’s checking your account for cash
And more interested in how many beans

And I say, I’m a poet, love
The writing of verse ain’t good for wealth
But, baby, it’s sure good for my health

And her warm touch goes icy cold
And I know her love is for money not me
So I say money can’t buy a lover to hold
And love should always be free

And I say, I’m a poet, love
The writing of verse ain’t good for wealth
But, baby, it’s sure good for my health

She sings ‘Money that’s what I want’
So I say good-bye to that romance
For hunny, you got nothing I want
Cos ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ makes me dance

And I say, I’m a poet, love
The writing of verse ain’t good for wealth
But, baby, it’s sure good for my health

Yeah, we all know what song is going with this – bring it on John, Paul, George and Ringo
