A Beltane Night
Form: Pushkin’s Sonnet
Theme: Spring/Summer
Subject: Sun/Moon
In late spring when lovers come to be wed
Declaring love beneath May blossomed bough
In words of honour so many have said
The promise of love in a wedding vow
And a kiss at the last warm rays of sun
Now all has been said it must now be done
For lovers dance into the Beltane night
To the sensual desire that brings delight
The celebration of love a sacred feast
Love, divinely blessed in the ancient way
As sweet memories are made on this day
Tomorrow the king will rise in the east
A new man and his wife have love to make
And in that journey a new life to take
