Hidden Thirst
Form: Spanish Sonnet
Each night I kiss your eyes before I sleep
Across the miles in shards of silver light
The feather kisses that whisper good night
A gentle touch to shield my passions deep
Unsaid words of love within the heart steep
The love that yearns to feel the warm respite
In that embrace where our senses ignite
You stole my heart as yours alone to keep.
But can you know how much my soul burns
And lingers in the realms of one place where
One single thought can deftly swirl and churn
As in my torrid dreams I meet you there
The hidden thirst for the sweet love sauternes
In ev'ry kiss I place on night-time air
